Selling your car for export from Enschede through our network abroad
High mileage, a diesel, an ex-lease car, a company van or damage? Those are the cars the companies in our network abroad are looking for. Send us the details and photos; requesting an offer is free and without obligation.
- Free, no-obligation offer request
- Built in 2008 or later
- You decide whether to sell
Has your car done a lot of kilometres, does it run on diesel or has it been damaged? Selling it for export can be a sensible way out. We pass your car on to our network of car companies abroad. If one of them makes an offer, we forward it to you, and you decide whether to sell.
Requesting an offer is free and without obligation. We do not buy cars ourselves: we act as an intermediary and, if you sell, arrange the export papers at our RDW-approved export desk at Slachthuisweg 135 in Hengelo, about 12 km or roughly 20 minutes by car from the Oude Markt in Enschede.
The cars our export partners are looking for
- Mileage above 200,000 km
- Diesel cars
- Ex-lease cars
- Company vans
- Damaged cars
- Built in 2008 or later
Free and without obligation: requesting an offer costs you nothing
How it works
- You send us the details and photos of your car, via the form or WhatsApp.
- We pass your car's details on to our network of car companies abroad. They may make an offer.
- If an offer comes in, we forward it to you. You decide whether to sell.
- Agreed? The export transfer can take place at our desk in Hengelo: you receive the vrijwaringsbewijs (proof of deregistration), the buyer receives the export documents and, if needed, export insurance and two white plates.
We act as an intermediary; the offer comes from a car company abroad. There is no guarantee of an offer.
High mileage, diesel or damage: cars that suit export
Think of the diesel you have driven to work for years, an ex-lease car, a company van your business is replacing, or a car with damage you no longer want to repair. A mileage above 200,000 km is no problem; those are exactly the cars our partners look for. The car does need to be from 2008 or later.
Unsure whether yours qualifies? Send the details anyway. It costs nothing and you are not committing to anything.
From photos to offer: how selling for export works
Start with the details of your car: registration number, make and model, year, mileage, fuel type, condition and any damage. You can enter these in the form at the bottom of this page, or send them by WhatsApp together with photos. Clear photos, including of any damage, make the assessment easier.
We then pass the car on to our network of car companies abroad. If one of them makes an offer, you hear it from us. If you say no, that is the end of it, at no cost.
Our role: we pass your car on, companies abroad make the offer
It helps to know exactly what we do. We do not buy the car and we do not make an offer ourselves. The offer comes from a car company abroad; we simply pass it on. Whether an offer comes in, and how much it is, is up to those companies. That is why we do not quote amounts in advance and cannot promise that an offer will come.
For you as the seller, the service is free and without obligation. The buyer pays for the export papers and, if needed, export insurance with white plates.
Accepted the offer? The export transfer at our desk
When a car is sold to a buyer abroad, it is not transferred into the buyer's name in the Dutch register. The RDW advises that the buyer exports the vehicle in their own name, and we arrange that at our desk in Hengelo.
You receive the indemnification certificate (vrijwaringsbewijs), proof that the car is no longer registered to you. Your Dutch obligations for insurance, the APK test and road tax then end. The buyer receives the export documents: the export certificate, also called registration certificate part II, and the registration card with a corner cut off. If the buyer drives the car to its destination, they also need export insurance and two white export plates, which we arrange at the desk too.
What to bring when you hand over your car in Hengelo
The transfer needs the same papers as any RDW export:
Checklist
- Valid passport, ID card or driving licence of the person the export is registered to
- The Dutch registration card (kentekencard) with its registration code (tenaamstellingscode), or the old paper parts (part 1B and the transfer certificate)
- The Dutch yellow number plates (one plate for a motorcycle, scooter, moped, caravan or trailer)
- The current mileage
- The full foreign address of the buyer
- For insurance and plates: start date, destination and route, plus details of the policyholder and the driver
Source: RDW. For a business buyer we also need the company name, address and VAT number.
As the seller, you mainly bring the registration card with its tenaamstellingscode (the registration code that belongs to the card), or the old paper parts, and the yellow plates, which are handed in at export. The ID needed is that of the person in whose name the export is arranged.
Leaving Enschede soon? Selling your car before you go
Studying or working at the University of Twente or Saxion and heading home without your car? Selling it for export can be an alternative to driving it yourself or selling it in the Netherlands. Start in good time, though: we cannot predict whether or how quickly an offer will come in.
Would you rather take the car with you after all? Then you export it in your own name, with white plates and temporary insurance for the journey. Our page on export papers in the Netherlands explains how that works.

Selling a car for export in Enschede: what owners want to know
Does Auto Export Enschede buy my car?
No, we do not buy cars ourselves. We pass your car on to car companies abroad, forward any offer to you and, if you sell, arrange the export papers at our desk in Hengelo.
Will I definitely get an offer?
We cannot promise that. Offers come from the car companies in our network, not from us. If an offer comes in, you decide whether to accept it.
What does requesting an offer cost?
Nothing. It is free and without obligation. The buyer pays for the export papers and, where needed, export insurance and white plates.
How do I send photos of my car?
The form has no upload field. Use the WhatsApp button in the form, which opens a message to us so you can attach the photos. Email works too.
Can the buyer drive the car away?
Yes, with export insurance and two white export plates, which we also arrange. After deregistration the car may be driven on Dutch public roads for 14 days, and never without a valid APK.
